The luminaires and devices installed in the DALI system need to be DALI enabled.
The LED luminaire is fitted with a DALI dimming driver,
while the fluorescent luminaire is fitted with a DALI ballast. DALI driver/ballast
is wired either by Class 1 or Class 2 methods in compliance to the National
Electrical Code (NEC). For Class 1 method, the ballast/driver is wired into the
lighting system with 5-conductor cable. Alternatively, Class 2
method requires the DALI 16VDC signal wire to be routed through separate conduit alongside with
AC power cables. The transmission of DALI signal is powered by a separate power supply of
16VDC output with the limit to 250mA. |
